All Blog Posts
This page contains all our blog posts in chronological order. You can pick a topic from our menu. Or you can just start where ever you like and read all our posts! We’ve been branching out a bit lately, with some vlogs on the Tube also. It’s kind of a work in progress and we’re sure learning a ton as we go along. Who knew all this writing and videoing could be so fun for us and yet also challenging. We’re growing and we hope you grow along with us! Let us know if there’s a topic you’d like to read about or see a video about and we’ll do our best to get something in the works. Send us a note here, because we sure do like hearing from our readers. We kind of see this website as an interactive place where we can learn from you and maybe you can learn from us. And if you don’t learn something new, then hopefully we can simply entertain you for a little bit.
We both feel pretty lucky to be spending this portion of our lives exploring the world around us. It’s been a crazy last year with Covid 19, but we just keep doing our thing. Our marriage and our friendship has grown as we’ve spent so much time together. It’s been interesting to see as we are pretty nomadic right now and we weren’t sure how our relationship would fair being in such close proximity day in and day out. We’ve traveled around the world and back in the past couple years, both figuratively and literally. Seems like it’s mostly working out for us, as you can read for yourself below! We hope you enjoy exploring with us! And you know, if you really like what we’re doing, we’d love having your support too. Check us out on Patreon, where you can sign up to put a gallon of diesel in our truck camper! We appreciate you!

Noelle here: We woke up at our mostly normal time between 5:30 and 6. The rain was still pouring so we closed our eyes again. Around 9, it seemed dry enough to start packing up. We donned our wet clothes from yesterday amid a fair amount of squeals and laughter from...
PCT: Day of Reckoning

PCT Trail Names!
Noelle here: Well, Steve got his trail name! It’s Toboggan! He earned it on Mt San Jacinto as he kept slipping and sliding on the snow and ice. But first, let me back up to a beautiful hamburger at Paradise Cafe! We sat with "Roger That" and ate nachos &...
PCT: First day without work email
Making the decision to leave my job was one of the most difficult decisions I've made in my life. Walking away from money on the table was not logical. The safe financial answer was to hunker down and enjoy the benefits of years of hard work. When I announced that I...

PCT: Day 8-Windy city
Our day began at 2AM when several tent stakes dislodged due to the high wind. Our ultra light frameless tent is great for being light, but wind isn't its strongest suit. [wpvideo 8ng9hukv ] Somewhere around 5:30 we gave up trying to shore it up and just waited for...

Noelle here for a change: Yesterday we arrived at Mt Laguna. It's a sleepy tiny town with two inns, two restaurants, a post office and one store. We ate dinner last night with two groups that we've really gotten close to in a very short time. Oddly enough it's two...
PCT: Day 4
