PCT: Day 8-Windy city

Day 8 Tent View

Our day began at 2AM when several tent stakes dislodged due to the high wind. Our ultra light frameless tent is great for being light, but wind isn’t its strongest suit.

Somewhere around 5:30 we gave up trying to shore it up and just waited for daylight to break camp and start hiking.

We hiked along ridge lines again today and enjoyed the spectacular views….and the wind.

This evening we’ve tried to use large rocks to augment the tent stakes to keep the tent from imploding again. Not sure how this is going to work though, it’s very windy and incredibly noisy.

Quite windy indeed! I love the video – so crazy how thin your tent is too..

      It’s a love/hate relationship with the tent!

Yikes, If there were more of y’all you could sit on the tent to hold it down. Great scenery and good video of the tiny tent tornado turbulence. Noise like that makes it tough to sleep!
Happy Trails to you 💕 Mom n Dad

Earbuds are all the rage in our tent. We’re working to tighten up the tent tension lines to reduce the flapping in the wind.
