Noelle here: Today we head back up to the mountains and the trail! Last night we stayed in a hotel to watch the finale of Game of Thrones. We may have had time recently to binge this season and catch up. 🤣🤣🤣
A park near us is gearing up for Memorial Day. It was a solemn sight to see!
We got to FaceTime one of our daughters and grandsons, as she showed us the contents of a box we left behind. She’ll mail some of it to our friend’s house down here for us to pick up. As will another daughter who has some of our stuff. As will our friends, Jack and Marycarol who we left stuff with before we started. The thing about the van is now we have room for “stuff”. It’s very odd.
We went by a goodwill, where I got some books. I’ve never read the Twilight series, so it seems like a good opportunity! Send me your faves, I’ll check em out! My kindle is on its way in one of the boxes, so that’ll cut down on space, but I really do love holding a book!

Books
Saw that Thailand guide book and got it too! We’re thinking of heading there or to Vietnam (or both) for a few months after the trail. It’s our gap year!
We’ve stocked up on groceries and I got a couple bags of tangerines to give to hikers who pass me. Guess I need a big bag of candy or some chips still. I think I’ll enjoy being a trail angel! 😁

Stocked up
I’m excited for this next week to see how Steve’s long legs stretch without me holding him back. I’m excited to get back on the trail myself, with just a small backpack of day hike necessities. We’re both a little restless and anxious to get back out there.
You will be the most wonderful trail angel!!! <3
Check out Deborah Harkness’ “A Discovery of Witches.” It’s “Twilight” for grownups. But – fair warning – it’s a trilogy and you WILL get sucked in. Imop she has the same gift as Tolkien and J.R. Rowling – she has created an alternate world and done it so well that you don’t want to leave at the end of the book. Enjoy!!
Briget. Thanks for the recommendations! I’m a huge Harry Potter fan and a smaller Tolkien fan (gasp! I should probably not admit that he’s lower!) but I do want to see the new movie about him! I’ll check these out!
I laughed after seeing your Lonely Planet guidebook. You may have been bitten by a travel bug while hiking. Please consult your spouse for confirmation.
Oh Bill, that bug done bit many years ago!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Noelle
You might think twice about the Twilight Series. Check out Francine Rivers or Karen Kinsgbury.
I really like Francine Rivers. The Red Tent is one of my all time favorites!
I’m sure you must go through a lot of TRAIL MIX – lol
Hi Carol! Surprisingly we don’t eat much trail mix. Beef jerky, on the other hand! A ton of that! 🤣
